Online HPC Training Workshop Conducted for Primary Teachers (Classes 1 to 5)

Mithi Govindram Public School (MGPS), in collaboration with Navnidh Hassomal Lakhani Public School (NHLPS), organised an intensive Holistic Progress Card (HPC) Training and Orientation Programme for primary teachers of Classes 1 to 5 on 18 September 2026.

Conducted virtually through Zoom and live-streamed at the NHLPS Auditorium, the programme focused on strengthening teachers’ understanding of the CBSE Holistic Progress Card (HPC) and its effective implementation as a multidimensional approach to student assessment and development.

The workshop featured insightful sessions by expert Academic Trainers:

* Foundational Stage: Mr. Dhanush Ram Vignesh guided teachers on mapping foundational learning outcomes and developmental milestones.
* Preparatory Stage: Mr. Avinash Thungani elaborated on CBSE guidelines, assessment criteria, and practical strategies for effective HPC implementation.
* Ms. Shweta Sooda, Regional Head – Madhuban Publications, South, highlighted the key aspects of HPC, its implementation process, and important considerations for effective integration in schools.
* Ms. Kirti Tolani joined the programme in person and facilitated the doubt-clearing session, enabling teachers to seek clarification and gain greater practical understanding.

Empowering Teachers, Parents and Students Through HPC

Empowering Teachers through 360-Degree Assessment:
The orientation equipped teachers with practical strategies to assess learners beyond conventional marks. It emphasised observing and documenting students’ cognitive, socio-emotional, physical, and other developmental dimensions to understand individual learning needs and plan responsive classroom interventions.

Strengthening Parent-Teacher Collaboration:
The HPC provides a comprehensive picture of a child’s progress beyond a conventional marksheet. Teachers can communicate meaningful feedback, helping parents understand their child’s strengths, interests, learning needs, and areas requiring support at home.

Fostering Holistic Student Development:
The HPC framework encourages a shift from an exclusive focus on academic achievement towards competency development, critical thinking, creativity, self-awareness, and overall well-being. Continuous feedback helps students recognise their progress, build confidence, and take greater ownership of learning.

The training programme served as a valuable platform for professional learning, collaborative understanding, and practical guidance, reinforcing the shared commitment of MGPS and NHLPS towards nurturing every learner through a holistic, competency-based, and learner-centred approach.
