Celebrating the Legacy of Pandit Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar

Mithi Gobindram Public School commemorated the 206th Birth Anniversary of Pandit Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar on 26th September 2026 through a meaningful and inspiring special assembly presented by the students of Class VII-C under the able guidance of their Class Teacher, Ms. Kanchan Jawrani.

The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the Respected Principal Ma’am Ms. Rekha Kewlani, Vice Principal Ma’am Ms. Divya Kriplani, and Coordinator Ms. Mini Nair, symbolising the light of knowledge, wisdom, and enlightenment. This was followed by a floral tribute to Pandit Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar, honouring the enduring legacy of the eminent educationist and social reformer.

The students presented a well-structured and engaging portrayal of his remarkable life and contributions, highlighting his unwavering dedication to education, social reform, equality, compassion, and human dignity. Through narration and thoughtful presentations, the students brought alive the values and ideals that shaped his extraordinary journey.

A special segment, “His Message to the New Generation,” drew meaningful connections between Vidyasagar’s timeless values and the responsibilities of today’s youth. The presentation encouraged students to value education, uphold dignity and equality, show compassion towards others, and become responsible contributors to society.

The assembly served as a thought-provoking and enriching experience, reinforcing the message that education is not merely the pursuit of knowledge but also the cultivation of character, empathy, courage, and social responsibility.
